How it all began.
The story goes that I’ve been ‘singing since before I could talk.’ At 5mos old I could mimic notes sung to me by my gramma. By 8mos old, I could recall songs that I had previously heard and hum them from memory. For some reason the theme song from Barney struck a chord with me, and reportedly, it was the first tune that I ‘sang,’ and it was in perfect pitch.
It was obvious to those around me that I had an ear for music. At just 5 yrs old, I was chosen to lead the song at kindergarten graduation. From there I was featured vocally in every production we had at school.
My parents nurtured my talents by getting me involved in a local theater troupe when I was 8. After auditioning for a part in Charlotte’s Web, I was selected to play a gosling, which was a non-speaking role. But with my big personality, I was definitely seen lol.
I started guitar lessons around 11, consistently began working with a vocal coach at 13, and moved on to the bass at 16. I had the good fortune of attending middle and high schools that focused on performing arts. All of it kept me in a creative space, which cultivated my talents tremendously.
In my spare time (what little I have), I like to game, draw, knit and work on cosplay. I’m an all-around creative, and so are my friends. So the time spent with them reinforces my purpose, and keeps me on my grind!
